 HOW TO HACK YOUR DREAMBOX WITH FORGOTTEN PASSWORD AND NO ACCESS TO TUXBOX ***


I've been in this situation, when the guy who sold me the dreambox customized the password and didn't wanna give it to me. He also blocked any access to the "Tuxbox Commander" plugin AND left only his server for the downloads so I couldn't install remotely or even download/install any plugins. 

Anyway, without any further introductions this is the ultimate solution I found :

ON YOUR PC 

1- Create a new user on your pc (with administrator rights) 
username : dreambox
password : dreambox 
(MUST to give him administor rights) 2-   Create a folder named " password " in C:
2-1 Right click->proprieties->sharing tab->share->select Dreambox from the list->add->read/write->share->ok

3- In this folder we're gonna put this file as it is
download link : passwd DM500-56xx-7000-7020.tar.bz2

NOW ON YOUR DREAMBOX :

1- Menu->Settings->Expert Settings->Communication Setup->Mounts

This is what you should have on your TV

2- Copy exactly what you see here except for the ip address where you'll put yours

2-1 Click " mount "
wait 2 seconds if you have to
2-2 Click " Ok "wait 2 seconds if you have to
2-3 Click " Save "
wait 2 seconds if you have to
2-4 Click " No " to the confirming message 

3-Press the blue botton
->Addons-> Manual Installation ->
in the listing go to the folders : /var->/mnt

3-1 Select the file named " passwd DM500-56xx-7000-7020.tar.bz2 "-> ok (with the green button ) -> ok -> ok

NOW 



For some models you should be DONE ; your password is rested to " dreambox" and your login to " root " BUT for some others like the D500s there are some few steps left :

and for that we're gonna :

1- Download and install DreamboxControlCenter

2- Connect to your dreambox via DCC

3- Go to FTP 

4- And Copy this file "PASSWD" in this two directories 
/var/etc    and   /var_init/etc
---he will ask you if you want to replace the existing files click yes--- 

AND NOW YOU'RE DONE
